August, 2017

Here's the rest of what happened in August.   Still totally obsessed with all of my yard flowers.  This year my cosmos didn't grow very well.  I think I'll have to re-seed them for next year!  I planted Dhalias because I love them and unfortunately I only got a couple of blooms.   We hosted McGruff the Crime Dog and the Sandy City police at the pocket park for National Night Out Against Crime.   One up-side to having Emry and Jax this summer was that I got to try my hand at girl-hair do's.  This was a fishtail braid I did on Emry one morning.  Jax just being silly in dress-up clothes.  Colin's work barbecue at Sugar House Park.    Playing at the park with the Flores' kids.  New shades for my Birthday!  And a last summer bucket-list item: shaved ice!

Fun Center

For the last week of summer, I asked the kids what they wanted to do.  One vote was for laser tag, and another was for roller skating.  So twice in one week we went to the fun center.  I even let them play some arcades.  What a blast!

Advantage Basketball Camp

The boys attended ABC camp in Lehi this summer.  They practiced their ball-handling skills from 9-5 Monday to Friday one week in July.  They worked really hard, had a lot of fun, and learned lots of new skills and tricks.

Yellowstone Day 1

Summer Road Trip, 2017 Yellowstone Day 1 From Grand Tetons National Park we drove north to the South entrance of Yellowstone National Park.  We were able to see A LOT the first day in Yellowstone.  We saw quite a bit of wildlife including some birds Ryan was really excited about.  We got to go to Old Faithful and see all of the Hot Springs and geysers around that area.  I was an idiot and turned around on the trail before the best two hot springs thinking that they were in the other direction, I'm still killing myself about that!  It was a little bit on the hot side while walking out on the walkways in the direct sunlight, but other than that, we had an awesome day of sight-seeing in Yellowstone.  I hope this is a trip that Ryan and Evan will remember.   That evening we went into West Yellowstone and got some yummy Mexican Food from a taco truck.  It was actually a school bus.  Evan bought some antlers and we shopped around a lit...
