Using the sensor

Well, I've had the sensor for a week now and have just started my second site for it. So far I think it is working pretty well. The only complaint that I have is that it is keeping me up at night. Almost all night long it's beeping at me and telling me that my sugar is high, or my sugar is low. I guess that is good because then my sugar can be more even during the nighttime as well. However, I was starting to get quite sleep deprived.
Last night the sensor ended and so I took it out. I decided to leave it out for a night and wait until this afternoon to re-connect. I am really glad that I did too because I went to bed at 9:00pm with a BG of 140. I woke up at 6:00am with a BG of 96.
I'll see Dr. Day on Monday so he can have a lot of sensor data to look at. I think this will really help my sugars during this pregnancy. I was really proud of myself for the first three days because my glucose graph was almost a perfectly straight line, I was really excited about that.
Right now I am starting a new sensor and I'm having a lot of calibration errors. I've heard it can take up to 12 hours before it will work well though so I'm trying to be patient with all of the beeping and testing.
Anyway, I just wanted to post something about the sensor so you can all get a feel for how it is working for me.

Jess & Stu, I know you are wanting pictures of Ryan. I've been quite busy lately with all of the doctor appointments but I'll try to get something posted this weekend.
Parent Teacher conferences next week, ugh! That will be another busy week but then we only have two and a half days and we're off track. Yeah, carpet cleaning time!

Jen, I'm so excited for you to have your new sensor. It was so cool to see it all the other day and hear about how it is working for you! I am sure it will be a bit help!

UMEA State Band Festival

I had the privilege of chaperoning Ryan's Concert band group as they attended the Utah Music Educators Association State Band Festival at the Libby Gardner Concert Hall.  It was a really cool experience to be able to go with the band all the way from the school (they arrived two hours before school started) as they were greeted by their administrators and counselors who were all so proud of their accomplishment, all the way up to the concert hall in downtown Salt Lake City.  The kids earned the spot by being among the top 15 bands in the state.  Their director, Brian Cox is an incredible Middle School Band instructor and he's taken the school from a 10 piece brass section to this robust program in a short three years. Two Dreams

I’ve always been one to plan. I’d call myself a Type-A personality, and so would everyone that knows me. The good thing is I married a man who’s a lot the same in that respect. We’ve always been really good about planning things out and thinking them through in advance. We had our son named before he was even conceived. Spode Dish Factory

I went with a few friends on a mommy-field trip to the Spode Dish factory in Malaysia.  We had the best time and it was an experience I won't soon forget.  We met at Becky's in the morning and got our three car caravan ready to go.  We said a prayer, did a cheer and were off at about 9 am.  We crossed the border without any issues (except for toll top-up cards) and hit the road.  In about an hour we arrived at this little side-of-the-road pottery market.  It was typical of a third-world place. True Outlet shopping.  There was a nice aluminum roof and some big fans to keep us cool.  The plates were very dusty from being outside so long but there were so many lovely treasures.  We all had a good time just wandering around searching for new dishes. I was looking for a set of every-day dishes and anything else was a bonus in my mind.  Spode is a European brand that outsources production to Malaysia.  Their retail cost is pretty high...
