Did I mention that the Santa he saw was at the Harley dealership? My dad bought a bike there this year and they've sent him all sorts of stuff in the mail. One thing was an invitation to come see santa.
I went with a few friends on a mommy-field trip to the Spode Dish factory in Malaysia. We had the best time and it was an experience I won't soon forget. We met at Becky's in the morning and got our three car caravan ready to go. We said a prayer, did a cheer and were off at about 9 am. We crossed the border without any issues (except for toll top-up cards) and hit the road. In about an hour we arrived at this little side-of-the-road pottery market. It was typical of a third-world place. True Outlet shopping. There was a nice aluminum roof and some big fans to keep us cool. The plates were very dusty from being outside so long but there were so many lovely treasures. We all had a good time just wandering around searching for new dishes. I was looking for a set of every-day dishes and anything else was a bonus in my mind. Spode is a European brand that outsources production to Malaysia. Their retail cost is pretty high but we got some amazing deals. After we had
The nurses from Alta View called me yesterday to let me know that my c-section was scheduled for 7:30am, and that we needed to be at the hospital by 6:00am. So much for sleeping in! Grandma and Grandpa took Ryan last night so that we wouldn't have to drop him off before the crack of dawn. We arrived at the hospital this morning at 6:00 as directed and got all admitted. At about 7:00 they let us know that we were being bumped because of an emergency c-section that they needed to do ahead of us. At around 8:00 they took us back to the operating room. The anesthesiologist came in and did his thing. Colin was great to help me through the whole surgery process. Our baby boy was born at 8:26 am. He weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces and was 21 inches long. He has dark hair but not tons of it and it's probably curly, I would guess. His name is Evan Miles Dean. We are both doing well and there will be more pictures to come! me- last day of pregnancy Jen waiting to go into surgery Colin wa
So, as most of you know, a certain movie is coming out this week. I don't know what it is exactly about all of the trailers, and photos, and blogs, and websites, and all of the other hullabaloo, but I'm just very skeptical of this movie. I guess I just really don't understand why every single book that does well has to be made into a movie. I mean, can't we just enjoy literature for what it is? Every time I want to read a good book to my students, they all say, "we've seen that movie!" Arg! I do plan on seeing the movie, but I'm just not getting my hopes up very high. I really think that the main character is TOTALLY mis-cast. She looks mad or frightened in EVERY SINGLE SCENE and that is so not how I pictured her. In fact, the author went out of her way to tell us that she isn't afraid. Did the actress not read that part???? From what I've seen the director has also taken some humongous liberties with the script and that's plain annoying
