Evster

It seems like every kid gets a nickname somehow spontaniously. I called Ryan RyRy from pretty early on and for some reason, I've stared calling Evan "Evster". I don't know where it came from, but I like to call him that. Ryan gets nicknames like Ry, Bubba, and Mister. Evan gets Evster, E, and Mr. Magoo. I love my boys! Here are some more recent ones of Evan. I've been trying to get him smiling on camera but he's not a huge fan of the red-eye-eliminator followed by the big flash, I've gotten plenty of strange faces resulting. what was that light?

Now he's just a DARLING! We call Keiler Kei, but Cam calls him Kei-Kei...IDK where he got that from but it's pretty cute. Oh Buddy is on there too. Don't they grow so very fast?

what a doll!! i think evster works for him. he's such a big boy too. i love how ours come all filled in and ready to be pinched and kissed and loved!!

I am glad to know I'm not the only one who ends up with nicknames for their kids. I have done that, especially with Brent and I don't know why but then Ethan starts saying it to and it's really funny. Your boys are adorable!

Spode Dish Factory

I went with a few friends on a mommy-field trip to the Spode Dish factory in Malaysia.  We had the best time and it was an experience I won't soon forget.  We met at Becky's in the morning and got our three car caravan ready to go.  We said a prayer, did a cheer and were off at about 9 am.  We crossed the border without any issues (except for toll top-up cards) and hit the road.  In about an hour we arrived at this little side-of-the-road pottery market.  It was typical of a third-world place. True Outlet shopping.  There was a nice aluminum roof and some big fans to keep us cool.  The plates were very dusty from being outside so long but there were so many lovely treasures.  We all had a good time just wandering around searching for new dishes. Baby Evan Makes his Arrival

The nurses from Alta View called me yesterday to let me know that my c-section was scheduled for 7:30am, and that we needed to be at the hospital by 6:00am. So much for sleeping in! Grandma and Grandpa took Ryan last night so that we wouldn't have to drop him off before the crack of dawn. We arrived at the hospital this morning at 6:00 as directed and got all admitted. At about 7:00 they let us know that we were being bumped because of an emergency c-section that they needed to do ahead of us. At around 8:00 they took us back to the operating room. The anesthesiologist came in and did his thing. Colin was great to help me through the whole surgery process. Our baby boy was born at 8:26 am. He weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces and was 21 inches long. He has dark hair but not tons of it and it's probably curly, I would guess. His name is Evan Miles Dean. Evan's 10th Birthday!

Our sweet Evan turned 10!  We had his birthday party for friends and family at Obstacle Warrior Kids in Sandy.  It is a new place and the kids had a great time getting their warrior on. I think the crowd favorite was "the wall"  and they all tried to get to the top many times.  I'm pretty sure they all conquered the wall at least once.  On Evan's actual birthday we had birthday waffles, dinner of pancakes (he likes breakfast I guess) and dessert at Last Course (another new place) in Draper.   We sure do love you, kid!
