Miles Reunion

Image
My family came up from California for the Miles Family Reunion.  We've all been to many, many Clegg reunions but I'm not sure we've ever had a Miles Reunion.  It was nice to see, meet, and hang out with some of Grandma Veva's family.  There was an excellent turn out and everybody had a great time.  Not to mention, some really yummy food!   Evan loves baby Corbyn (Marsha's baby) and I do too.  We both took lots of turns holding him.   Emry took turns holding Corbyn too.  She's practicing for the baby brother she'll be getting sometime around Christmas.  Friday before the Reunion Jess, Karen, Marsha and I (and our moms, grandma and kids) went shopping at a few craft stores.  We hauled the kids around with us and reminisced about our parents doing the same thing to us.    At the reunion the boys got their faces painted.  I didn't get any pictures of the human family tree but that was pretty cool.  Here is my mom with all of her M

Copper Mine Field Trip

Evan's preschool class had a field trip out to the Copper Mine.  I'm not sure what to call it.  Used to be called the Bingham mine.  Then it was the Kennecott mine.  I think now it's the Rio Tinto mine.  Anyhow.. we went there!  It's WAY out there on the west side of the valley but it was a very nice drive.    The boys with an old mining cart.  We took lots of pictures posing in front of the large tire.  The trucks that haul out the rock have these tires on them.  The trucks are literally as big as a house.  I let Ryan come to Evan's preschool field trip because I told the boys all summer that I would take them out to the mine and never got around to it.  Both boys got a flattened penny and one small gift.  Ryan chose a piece of calcite and Evan got a bag of rock candy.  The boys in front of the mine.  You're not allowed to stop on this road.  I really wanted to get a picture of the sides of the mine because it's quite the sight.  A

I can Tri

In all of the hype and excitement of watching the Olympics this summer, I began to itch for a little competition in my life. So I did something pretty crazy and signed up for a triathlon, my first!  I have always been a swimmer and it's an easy thing for me.  I still swim at a decent pace and I love to jump in the pool and swim some laps at least once a week.  I love my spin class and think that my instructor is quite good at keeping me fit.  To put it bluntly, she's really, really tough.  I felt confident in both my swim and bike.  Running, I know is not my thing.  However, I have run a few races before, so I decided to go ahead and do it.   I signed up for the Alta Canyon sprint Triathlon.  It consists of a 400 Meter swim, a 9 mile bike ride, and a 5K run.  I felt comfortable biting off this much for my fist tri.  I am so glad I did it!  It was an AMAZING experience that I will NEVER forget.  It's so amazing what you can do once you set your mind to it.    I foll

BYU vs. Weber State

Image
Thanks to Cole, we scored some free tickets to the BYU vs. Weber State game at LaVell Edwards Stadium.  Of course we went!  I was glad that the boys got to experience a college football game.  I think they had a lot of fun and I know they were completely spoiled.  It was the same day as my triathlon so I was totally exhausted by the end.  I walked up and down the ramp like 3 or 4 times.  The boys each got a snow cone and a super fan wig.  They each had to go to the bathroom a few times as well.  BYU won this game so that was fun too!  The Boys had fun picking out all of the BYU flags and stickers on the cars as we made the journey down to Provo.  BYU FANS!  Me & my Colly Half time Colin takes the boys to the bathroom and comes back with these. Are you kidding me?  Well, I guess they are pretty cute!  that Face!
