Birddies in the Tree

Image
One morning I woke up and looked out our bedroom window.  Behold, a nest!  Two red breasted Robins were getting ready for eggs.  Just a few days later we noticed 4 eggs.  It was really hard to see the eggs from our window (camera) but they were bright blue.  And speaking of camera, I took literally hundreds of photos.  I am trying really hard to whittle it down for this post.  Our whole family got in on the nest watching. It was so fun to see the nature channel just out my bedroom window each day.  I hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed watching the process.   Mamma bird watching over her eggs.     Pink little fuzzy birdies hatched.  feeding time growing baby birds I know this photo isn't the best but I loved watching this process.  The mother bird would stick her whole body into the nest to arouse the birds.  Then they'd stick their heads up and get some food. It reminded me of when Ryan was going

Preschool Graduation

Image
This year we were so lucky to have Evan in Mrs. Hammer's Tomorrow's Rainbow Preschool.  Evan loves school so much.  He went to her class every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 to 11:30.  His buddy Kayden was in his class and he made friends with just about all of the other kids in his class. Some of his favorites were Kate, Mikey, Ryker and Trent.  He loves Mrs. Hammer so much and is really going to miss not seeing her every week.   His graduation was a pick nick at the Draper Park.  They sang two songs, received their diplomas, and had lunch with their families.  The boys and I went to the water park afterward to celebrate.  He has really had a wonderful year! Evan on the last day of School Evan and Mrs. Hammer Big graduating class.  I counted like 45.   singing their song getting his diploma from Mrs. Hammer celebrating all of his hard work!  my little graduate

Tour de Cure

It was such an honor and truly an awesome time to ride in this year's Tour de Cure in Brigham City, Utah.  The American Diabetes Association puts this ride on in cities across America each summer.  This is my first time participating in the ride and it was really, really great!  I am SO GLAD that I decided, even though last minute, to participate.  I signed up for the ride less than a month before it was held and was able to raise $210 for diabetes research.  Many of you know that I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes (insulin dependent) in my early twenties.  And guess what?  I didn't get this disease by eating too much sugar!  Nope, my pancreas just pooped out on me as the result of a virus from a simple sore throat.  Researchers are working VERY HARD on finding ways to improve the lives of those who suffer with diabetes and I believe that there will be a cure some day.  So, that's why I rode.  Because I hate having diabetes, and what better cause to ride for than the ver

Getting his award from Mr. Anderson.   He also earned his Golden Falcon Award this year!  This is his third time winning this award!  This is Ryan with his morning teacher, Mrs. Joyce.  She teaches all of the language arts; reading, writing, spelling, etc. This is Ryan with his afternoon teacher, Mrs. Barnes.  She teaches everything else; Science, Math, Social Studies, etc.   And here they are together!
