Suggestions?


Well, I'm still basically computer-less but dealing with the sitch. Colin is being nice enough to lend me his laptop when he doesn't have to take it to school. I know it's driving him crazy, but I'm very appreciative.


So, I'm thinking of getting a new digital camera. I'm hoping to get an SLR if I can figure out a way to afford it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Have not really researched this at all...

I'm clueless but Jill did a ton of research before buying hers and Christine is a wonder with a camera and just bought a new one.

I have a Canon EOS Rebel XT, it's a few years old and I know there is a newer model now but I LOVE my camera! My Dad is a big photo buff and reads reviews of cameras and quality etc and he is a Nicon fan. but personally I don't think you could go wrong with either brand. If you do get one, there is a book that my dad gave me it's a really great digital photo book that explains things about your camera and how to take neat shots and he explains things simply, I'll have to find it and tell you the title if your interested. Good luck, and it is TOTALLY worth the money!

Such a bummer about the camera, but I think the SLR is the way to go. I know nothing about it, but I'm just waiting for my camera to break so I can get a new one. I probably shouldn't wish too hard. ;)

I went with a few friends on a mommy-field trip to the Spode Dish factory in Malaysia.  We had the best time and it was an experience I won't soon forget.  We met at Becky's in the morning and got our three car caravan ready to go.  We said a prayer, did a cheer and were off at about 9 am.  We crossed the border without any issues (except for toll top-up cards) and hit the road.  In about an hour we arrived at this little side-of-the-road pottery market.  It was typical of a third-world place. True Outlet shopping.  There was a nice aluminum roof and some big fans to keep us cool.  The plates were very dusty from being outside so long but there were so many lovely treasures.  We all had a good time just wandering around searching for new dishes. Baby Evan Makes his Arrival

The nurses from Alta View called me yesterday to let me know that my c-section was scheduled for 7:30am, and that we needed to be at the hospital by 6:00am. So much for sleeping in! Grandma and Grandpa took Ryan last night so that we wouldn't have to drop him off before the crack of dawn. We arrived at the hospital this morning at 6:00 as directed and got all admitted. At about 7:00 they let us know that we were being bumped because of an emergency c-section that they needed to do ahead of us. At around 8:00 they took us back to the operating room. The anesthesiologist came in and did his thing. Colin was great to help me through the whole surgery process. Our baby boy was born at 8:26 am. He weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces and was 21 inches long. He has dark hair but not tons of it and it's probably curly, I would guess. His name is Evan Miles Dean. Evan's 10th Birthday!

Our sweet Evan turned 10!  We had his birthday party for friends and family at Obstacle Warrior Kids in Sandy.  It is a new place and the kids had a great time getting their warrior on. I think the crowd favorite was "the wall"  and they all tried to get to the top many times.  I'm pretty sure they all conquered the wall at least once.  On Evan's actual birthday we had birthday waffles, dinner of pancakes (he likes breakfast I guess) and dessert at Last Course (another new place) in Draper.   We sure do love you, kid!
