Can it be Spring?

The calendar tells us that it's now officially spring. In Utah that usually means about a month more of snow. We've had some pretty weird weather lately. Some days in and of themselves it is sunny, raining, hailing, snowing, and sunny again. However, we know that it is warming up and before we know it we'll have to crank up the Air Conditioner. I'm pretty excited for Summer this year. I'll finally have a break from work and I know it's going to be a LONG one. I plan on taking the kids to the park, organizing things in my home that I haven't touched in months, cleaning my carpets, maybe even doing a garage sale! It should be a good time. I have some pretty big goals for my stay-at-home life this summer but I'd hate to not achieve them so I'll keep them to myself for now. We plan on taking the kids to California this summer and visiting Disneyland for the first time for all of us but me. I'm more excited to take Colin than I am to take the boys. Should be a good time.
What are your plans for summer? Anybody want to join me at the local pools and parks?

So fun!!! Right now I'm busy just trying to come up with some fun for spring break. ;) But I've got a few things up my sleeve for summer too. You're so productive, I"m sure you'll get tons of projects done!

Let me know when you'll be in CA and maybe we can hook up!

The park looks like a ton of fun. I love the parks in Utah! My girls love playing outside. To bad we don't do it a lot. Too many bugs(mosquitos, ants, mi mi's, to name a few):( Another great thing about Utah, no bugs!!:) Maybe one day we will be able to live in Utah again.

Joy, I think we'll be there for the last two weeks in June and the first week in July.

Spode Dish Factory

I went with a few friends on a mommy-field trip to the Spode Dish factory in Malaysia.  We had the best time and it was an experience I won't soon forget.  We met at Becky's in the morning and got our three car caravan ready to go.  We said a prayer, did a cheer and were off at about 9 am.  We crossed the border without any issues (except for toll top-up cards) and hit the road.  In about an hour we arrived at this little side-of-the-road pottery market.  It was typical of a third-world place. True Outlet shopping.  There was a nice aluminum roof and some big fans to keep us cool.  The plates were very dusty from being outside so long but there were so many lovely treasures.  We all had a good time just wandering around searching for new dishes. I was looking for a set of every-day dishes and anything else was a bonus in my mind.  Spode is a European brand that outsources production to Malaysia.  Their retail cost is pretty high...

Skiing

This winter has been AWFUL so far.  I just KNEW it would be too!  We've had two very mild winters back to back and I knew that meant we would have to pay for it this year.   The inversion has been so bad this year that since Christmas it's been above 30 degrees like 3 or 4 times!!! Most days, it's been in the teens or lower.  I've been substituting for a teacher who was on maternity leave since December 10th.  So many inside recess days, I thought I was going to lose my mind.   My long-term job ended on Friday and with Martin Luther King Junior day on Monday, I just really wanted to get out of the inversion.  I tried to convince Colin to go to Las Vegas with me but we decided that wasn't very realistic, still cold there too.   Then I proposed skiing and we both decided it would be really fun to take the boys!  I was really pretty nervous about teaching both of the boys but the day was so amazing I couldn't even believe it.  ...
