Miles Reunion

My family came up from California for the Miles Family Reunion.  We've all been to many, many Clegg reunions but I'm not sure we've ever had a Miles Reunion.  It was nice to see, meet, and hang out with some of Grandma Veva's family.  There was an excellent turn out and everybody had a great time.  Not to mention, some really yummy food!  
Evan loves baby Corbyn (Marsha's baby) and I do too.  We both took lots of turns holding him.  

Emry took turns holding Corbyn too.  She's practicing for the baby brother she'll be getting sometime around Christmas. 

Friday before the Reunion Jess, Karen, Marsha and I (and our moms, grandma and kids) went shopping at a few craft stores.  We hauled the kids around with us and reminisced about our parents doing the same thing to us.  

 At the reunion the boys got their faces painted.


 I didn't get any pictures of the human family tree but that was pretty cool.  Here is my mom with all of her Miles Cousins.
 Dixie (pictured in the back of the below photo) made a cool pinata for the kids.  They had a BLAST trying to crack that thing open.

Spode Dish Factory

I went with a few friends on a mommy-field trip to the Spode Dish factory in Malaysia.  We had the best time and it was an experience I won't soon forget.  We met at Becky's in the morning and got our three car caravan ready to go.  We said a prayer, did a cheer and were off at about 9 am.  We crossed the border without any issues (except for toll top-up cards) and hit the road.  In about an hour we arrived at this little side-of-the-road pottery market.  It was typical of a third-world place. True Outlet shopping.  There was a nice aluminum roof and some big fans to keep us cool.  The plates were very dusty from being outside so long but there were so many lovely treasures.  We all had a good time just wandering around searching for new dishes. I was looking for a set of every-day dishes and anything else was a bonus in my mind.  Spode is a European brand that outsources production to Malaysia.  Their retail cost is pretty high but we got some amazing deals.  After we had

Baby Evan Makes his Arrival

The nurses from Alta View called me yesterday to let me know that my c-section was scheduled for 7:30am, and that we needed to be at the hospital by 6:00am. So much for sleeping in! Grandma and Grandpa took Ryan last night so that we wouldn't have to drop him off before the crack of dawn. We arrived at the hospital this morning at 6:00 as directed and got all admitted. At about 7:00 they let us know that we were being bumped because of an emergency c-section that they needed to do ahead of us. At around 8:00 they took us back to the operating room. The anesthesiologist came in and did his thing. Colin was great to help me through the whole surgery process. Our baby boy was born at 8:26 am. He weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces and was 21 inches long. He has dark hair but not tons of it and it's probably curly, I would guess. His name is Evan Miles Dean. Evan's 10th Birthday!

Our sweet Evan turned 10!  We had his birthday party for friends and family at Obstacle Warrior Kids in Sandy.  It is a new place and the kids had a great time getting their warrior on. I think the crowd favorite was "the wall"  and they all tried to get to the top many times.  I'm pretty sure they all conquered the wall at least once.  On Evan's actual birthday we had birthday waffles, dinner of pancakes (he likes breakfast I guess) and dessert at Last Course (another new place) in Draper.   We sure do love you, kid!
