Black Friday was one big fat success this year.  I'm still pretty mad that the stores are now opening on Thanksgiving.  I don't like it but at the same time, I cannot resist the sales, deals, and all of that.

Mom and I went to WalMart on Thursday evening for their 8:00 pm sale.  It was awesome.  There really were people everywhere and the HOT ITEM I wanted was in HIGH demand.  Mom and I arrived about 7:20pm and found our item and got in line.  Well, we sort of huddled around the pallet.  Pallets were just sitting there with these WalMart body guards (who couldn't really do anything but everyone was cooperating, so yeah), and we all waited until 8pm and grabbed our stuff.  I was super worried that I wouldn't get what I wanted but with Mom's help, we did!  The store was soooo crowded and it was super hard to even get your cart around the store.  However, we got everything we wanted and were home by 9pm.  It was awesome!  The item I wanted was on sale from $79 and $77 regular price, to $35 and $29 sale price.  There were only about 15 of the item so we were really stoked about getting it.

Mom and I went to bed around a decent time although I slept at her house in the same bed with the boys and they didn't let me get much sleep.  They were asleep but I'm telling you, Ryan is a freakin windmill when he sleeps!  So I was up at 4am and we hit a few stores.  We did really well and got everything that was on our lists.

Spode Dish Factory

I went with a few friends on a mommy-field trip to the Spode Dish factory in Malaysia.  We had the best time and it was an experience I won't soon forget.  We met at Becky's in the morning and got our three car caravan ready to go.  We said a prayer, did a cheer and were off at about 9 am.  We crossed the border without any issues (except for toll top-up cards) and hit the road.  In about an hour we arrived at this little side-of-the-road pottery market.  It was typical of a third-world place. True Outlet shopping.  There was a nice aluminum roof and some big fans to keep us cool.  The plates were very dusty from being outside so long but there were so many lovely treasures.  We all had a good time just wandering around searching for new dishes. Baby Evan Makes his Arrival

The nurses from Alta View called me yesterday to let me know that my c-section was scheduled for 7:30am, and that we needed to be at the hospital by 6:00am. So much for sleeping in! Grandma and Grandpa took Ryan last night so that we wouldn't have to drop him off before the crack of dawn. We arrived at the hospital this morning at 6:00 as directed and got all admitted. At about 7:00 they let us know that we were being bumped because of an emergency c-section that they needed to do ahead of us. At around 8:00 they took us back to the operating room. The anesthesiologist came in and did his thing. Colin was great to help me through the whole surgery process. Our baby boy was born at 8:26 am. He weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces and was 21 inches long. He has dark hair but not tons of it and it's probably curly, I would guess. His name is Evan Miles Dean. This is Ryan and I painting letters for baby Evan. So, I guess we've made up our mind on the first name. I have a funny story to tell about Ryan. Yesterday he was playing with his little match-box cars on the table. He decided it would be fun to drive them through some "powder". So, he dumped out as much pepper as he could get out of the shaker and began driving the little truck through it. Later on he put the truck in his mouth. He quickly found out that it didn't taste so good. He kept rubbing his tongue on the couch, his blanket, and his shirt, trying to get the taste to go away. It was just too funny. I gave him some juice and that didn't work either so we eventually washed his hands and brushed his teeth to help him get rid of the pepper taste. Well, I survived my long week at work. Parent-Teacher conferences went well and I only didn't see two parents. I didn't get yelled at and my sugars stayed normal throughout the conferencing. I am so relieved
